What to Do during Challenging Times

We all have unpleasant situations at times that get us down and make us question the “Big Plan” that is laid out for us from above.

But when I heard about what a long-time friend is facing, I don’t think I'll ever have the right to complain about any situation that I have faced or will face in future.

Within a three day period, this beautiful, vivacious woman, single parent of three was diagnosed with an advanced stage of cancer and found that her home was up for auction and her bankruptcy lawyer did not file because he’s in jail over a DUI. You just can't make stuff like this up kids. She drove herself the 3 hours to file the bankruptcy at the court in order to halt the auction that was supposed to happen earlier today. After filing, exhausted, she drove straight to her job in the hospitality industry.

She later phoned me and explained that she was calm as she laughed and said “What else can go wrong?” I think it’s because she has gotten to the point of no return. Have you ever gotten to the point when the only way left is up? And all you throw your hands up in the air and give it up to the all that is, God.

At some point in each of our lives we all face times filled with great challenges.

The only thing you can do is to stay calm and breathe and remember this quote from St. Francis de Sales,

"We shall steer safely through every storm,
so long as our heart is right,
our intention fervent, our courage steadfast,
and our trust fixed on God."

And i know that when our spirit is strong, we cannmove mountains.,

I pray for my friend, that she knows inner joy and peace each moment of her life as she taps into her spirit, and shows the world her strength.

I ask that if you are reading this article to please take a moment now and pray for those who are going through difficult times where life makes no sense and fairness seems to have been tossed aside.
